Tchibo is a German consumer-goods and retail brand founded in Hamburg in 1949, best known for its freshly roasted coffee, tea and coffee capsules, and for its weekly rotating non-food assortment of fashion, furniture, kitchenware and electronics. The company is wholly owned by the Herz family through the Maxingvest holding and is headquartered at Überseering 18 in Hamburg. It operates around 520 stores in Germany and roughly 340 more across Austria, Switzerland, Poland, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary and Turkey, plus supermarket depots and online shops. Coffee is roasted at its Stammrösterei in Hamburg-Hamm, while non-food products such as textiles are produced by contracted factories, with sustainability programmes (EP2) currently active in China.

Cafina is a brand of professional fully automatic coffee machines and matching cleaning and care products, sold under Melitta Professional. The name began as a Swiss pioneer of industrial automatic espresso machines, which Melitta acquired in 1988, and today Cafina machines are produced at the Melitta Professional base in Minden, Germany, alongside Melitta Cafina cleaners such as the coffee machine cleaning powder. The brand belongs to the family-owned Melitta Group, managed by the fourth generation of the Bentz family.
