folia is a German family-run brand of craft and DIY materials, owned by the Bringmann family and based in Wendelstein, Bavaria. Founded in 1965 by Max Bringmann, it now offers more than 6,000 products, from craft and transparent papers to felt, origami sheets and DIY jewelry. The company develops and produces its range at its Wendelstein site, which includes an in-house printing press, and is the European market leader in the creative sector. Calligraphe is a stationery product line of Clairefontaine, a French paper and stationery maker founded in 1858 in Etival-Clairefontaine in the Vosges. The brand covers notebooks, notepads, writing sheets, envelopes and fine-art papers, all produced in-house by the family-owned Exacompta Clairefontaine group, which is the only European group that both manufactures paper and converts it into finished stationery. Development and manufacturing are concentrated at the French site, which runs two paper machines producing around 165,000 tonnes of paper per year alongside envelope and notebook lines.
